JUNE 2019 FISHING REPORT

A FISHING TRIP MAKES A GREAT GIFT ALL YEAR LONG!  ASK ABOUT OUR GIFT CERTIFICATES – OFFERED YEAR-ROUND!

The red fishing is hot just like this temperature! The bigger reds have come out and started to play up in the shallow marshes and back lakes. The redfish have still been biting hard on cut shad but have also been getting the taste for cut mullet. Our finger mullet should be showing up within this month coming up, by that time the red fishing will be on fire!

It is still a little early for the croakers because they are still small but the trout are loving them! We have been picking up quite a few trout with the croakers and soft plastics while we drift fish. The trout are hanging around drop offs and deeper sand holes where a lot of grass is around it.

The drum fishing is starting to heat up with the hot temperatures coming about they will not be able to stand the hot water temperatures. The drum are also starting to school up and will be on the drop offs and in channels to where we can actually sight cast to the drum! Watch the big drum eat the shrimp and set the hook and listen to him strip drag off of the reel and hang on!

Hopefully this helps everyone out on getting in on this amazing fishing we have in the waters of Rockport, Tx. Give us a call at 361-729-8220 or check out our website on our Facebook page Redfish Charters, Rockport, TX.

LODGING AVAILABLE – NICE AND COMFORTABLE!  CALL FOR MORE DETAILS:  361-688-6459

Hello Everybody,

Wind is the word for the time being.  It is awful, but on the bright side it will settle down.  I am going to veer a tad from the standard ole fishing report.  Today (Monday -Memorial Day-May 27, 2019) in Aransas Pass a Kayaker was run over by a bigger boat.  I have been told that this tragedy occurred before daylight, resulting in the death of the Kayaker.  I have also been informed that the bigger boat did not stop so an investigation to his identity is underway. Folks safety is numero uno on the water.  I do not have any other details.  I am going to address the kayak issue from my perspective.  This accident was totally avoidable and many guides have sat around and talked about this happening.  The kayakers paddle-In the dark- across the Aransas channel with no lights what so ever.  Dear kayakers please put lights on your vessel or wait until daylight.  A fish is not worth dying for.  I don’t mean a light that is lit—-I mean a light that is bright and very visible.  Common sense is called for here. It doesn’t really matter who is right and who is wrong here.  Someone lost their life!!!!!!!!!!! Hopefully this will spark Intelligent, rash, and calm conversion from all sides.  Dying is a permanent state so folks please, please, please use good  judgment and think!  Thank you! My heart and prayers go out to the family and friends.

JUNE 2019 FISHING REPORT

The month of June is awesome fishing because of the lower tides making the fish fall off into holes and drop off slamming the redfish on mullet, crab, pin, and shrimp 🦐. Putting the hammer on the drum chucking cab, mullet, and shrimp 🦐. Killing the trout on croaker fishing on sand patches around grass 🍃 bottom areas along shorelines. Getting flounder fishing channel edges with mullet, shrimp, and croaker. The bay water 💦 is warming up keeping fish in the same trend so catching fish in one area then going back most likely they will be in that area again that makes it some easy awesome fishing. So come join me fishing the Rockport Texas bays and flats on your summer vacation thanks and have a awesome summer!!!!

Still fighting the wind and higher than normal tide as of late and it has been brutal. The winds are gong to start subsiding as of today and we will get to a normal summer pattern for the month of June. The fishing continues to be strong with good boxes of trout, reds and drum. The trout bite is great on croaker or soft plastics with wading producing the bigger trout. Good solid trout numbers out of the boat over shell. I have been fishing out the airboat more of late with good numbers of reds coming on shad and mullet along high tide shorelines. The black drum are still biting dead shrimp on the bottom. If your looking for summer fishing trip give me a call. I still have a few days open at the later part of June and a lot of July open and would love to take you.

Remember that fishing is year-round and we fish weekdays, but keep in mind that weekends fill-up fast!  Book your trip early!!

JUNE 2019 FISHING REPORT

For the last couple of weeks we’ve had some high water tables here in our area due to the constant high winds pushing water in from the gulf. After the Memorial Day weekend it has started to fall out a little. Catching fish was good during our high tables, but slowed just a bit the last week of May. Once the water comes finally “levels” back out and the fish settle back into a pattern, catching will once again be good.
If you would like to get in in the action give me a call. We’ll go get ‘em!!
