“I promise you 110% PURE FISHING FUN!!”

LODGING AVAILABLE!!   I HAVE A CLEAN, COMFORTABLE AND COZY CABIN FOR ALL MY GUESTS! CALL FOR MORE INFO!

Hello to Everyone! Redfish are just about everywhere!  I heard a Guide the other day say, “there are so many Redfish it doesn’t take much skill to catch one”.  I agree with that statement to a point.  In my opinion sometimes like now there are a lot of Redfish and it doesn’t take much skill to catch one, but “skill” does come into play into landing the fish.  I’ve taught a lot of people these techniques, so contact me, I’ll teach them to you, and “let’s go catch you some memories”.  Also, don’t forget the Duck Season and the “Cast And Blast”, because it’s right around the corner.

NOVEMBER/DECEMBER 2018 FISHING REPORT

October was a cooler change for once bringing the water temperature down that means no more croaker for the month of November so live shrimp or artificial is the key thing for trout fishing focusing on shell bottoms, shoreline with sandy grass edges, and channel edges. Redfish are biting on mullet, shrimp, artificial lures, and gulp targeting reefs, creek edges, shoreline, back lakes, and flats. Flounder can only be taken by means of a fishing pole in November this is the time of the year for running to the Gulf of Mexico laying eggs then returning to the bays feeding on shrimp, mullet, artificial and gulp in areas along channel edges, rock bottom, shoreline edges and shell edges. Drum are eating shrimp, mullet, artificial, and gulp. Remember reds flounder and drum are making a egg laying swim once a year happening in November so come run to Rockport joining me fishing because when you do it will grow on you keeping you coming back!

OCTOBER 2018 FISHING REPORT

IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR LODGING IN ROCKPORT-FULTON, THEN LOOK NO FURTHER!  I have a great apartment that will sleep up to 6 comfortably with a full kitchen so no worries on were to eat. I just want to say please come and support your local fishing guides as this storm has been hard on all of us. Visit my website to see photos of the cutest cabin in Rockport!!

This last part of September you can tell fall is rolling in the first cold front is expected to arrive this evening. That means cooler temps and longer fishing days. The redfish bite has been picking up with the higher tides. I have been doing well on reds with croaker, ,shrimp, and cut mullet. The bigger fish coming while wading. The trout bite has been a little slower lately with a lot of smaller fish being caught. I am in the transition from croaker to shrimp as piggies have been unavailable lately. I still am catching good numbers if you get out and wade just fishing out of the boat has been a little slower. I know it will pick up as soon as the water temp comes down a little. I will start drifting a lot more. The drum bite has been better since the tide has come up. Finding them sitting on mud shell bottom on dead shrimp. I wanted to say early teal season was  great and so were the doves. Despite all the rain we got it was very successful. I believe its going to be a great duck season so don’t forget to get that cast and blast in or a great duck hunt. There is also still a little time left to get a dove hunt in as we are still seeing a lot of birds. The fall is always a successful time of year to fish or hunt so give me a call to schedule a trip and remember I do have lodging available.

Remember that fishing is year-round and we fish weekdays, but keep in mind that weekends fill-up fast!  Book your trip early!!

NOVEMBER/DECEMBER 2018 FISHING REPORT

Fall has finally arrived down on the coast. We have received some cold fronts that have cooled off the water temps and have really turned the fish on. Fish catching should be fairly easy until our weather and water temps get cold come mid December or so.  I’ve been limiting out on my redfish every day with ease almost every day.  Along with these fronts, ducks have started to show as well. I for one are ready for some change in pace adding some duck hunting to my regular routine. Take a look at my Facebook page and become a fan!  If you would like to do some duck hunting, fishing, or both, give me a call. I still have some open dates.  If you are on Facebook, look me up and become a fan on my business page. Ace in the Hole Guide Service – Capt. Brent Hopkins for daily reports that I’m out on the water. This report will run until the years end I’ve been told. Don’t  hesitate to call for more info or to check available dates. Would like for everyone to have a safe and happy holiday season.

THE PERFECT GIFT for the fisher person on your gift list: Redfish Charters Gift Certificates
Yes we can issue a gift certificate for you.  Just call and we can send it to you.
The redfish, black drum, trout, flounder and galftop have really been hungry this season.  I think they think it’s the holidays or something.  They have been eating almost anything you throw out there. Whether it be dead shrimp, cut or live mullet, cut shad, or cut skip jacks, they like it all.  These cooler temperatures and northers are stirring the fish up, along with all the hurricane activity we have had this year, our bays have been churned up with different salinity of water.  This is a good thing. Estes Flats is where we fish most of the time anywhere from Rockport to Ingleside, Aransas Pass to Port Aransas these are all territories we fish.  Redfish Charters has been in business for 35 years and have some of the finest captains on the water.  Give us a call and lets get your trip on the books or get your gift certificate sent out to you.  Remember Duck season is in full swing and we offer “Blast & Cast” trips also.

Check us out on Facebook also, Redfish Charters, Rockport, TX. 361 729-8220 land line or 361 386-0459 cell for calls or texts. Capt.
