FEBRUARY 2019 FISHING REPORT

When we have cold fronts that come in during the month of February this really makes the tides run super low mixed with moon phases. These super low tides plus adding cold water puts the fish exactly where I want them to be on the drop off. I’m hammering the reds on drop edges my fishing anglers are tossing live shrimp, dead shrimp, mullet, artificial lures, and gulp. Very nice limits of trout are mixed in with the reds on the drop so my anglers are dropping live shrimp, dead  shrimp, artificial lures, and gulp. Drum are on the same area drop jerking them in with live shrimp, dead shrimp, and gulp. My anglers are jigging live shrimp, dead shrimp, mullet, artificial lures, and gulp. Do you want to be one of my fishing anglers just calling me to book a fishing trip thanks have awesome month.

FEBRUARY 2019 FISHING REPORT

As I write this report, it seems as old man winter has finally arrived down in South Texas. Seems every time I turn around a big push of cold air has been coming in for the last week or so.  I had been doing a lot more duck hunting as of late, but now season is closed and the fish are still out there. Days fishing after my duck hunt have been tough for the most part, but I’ve managed a few fish in the last couple of weeks. All due to the conditions I’ve been faced with. The water here one day, gone the next, warm as for winter goes, then really cold. It keeps the fish and fishermen moving or hiding. If fishing in the next couple of months, try to fish during a moving barometer for one, and the sunshine always helps this time of year as well. Work your baits slow, or fish natural baits on bottom for sluggish fish. February I always kick off my hog and javelina hunts. So this will be my last fishing report until April once I resume fishing again about the middle of April. If you’re interested in a hog or javelina hunt, February through about mid April, give me a call. I’m sure I can work you into my books.

FEBRUARY 2019 FISHING REPORT

A FISHING TRIP MAKES A GREAT GIFT ALL YEAR LONG!  ASK ABOUT OUR GIFT CERTIFICATES – OFFERED YEAR-ROUND!

As we all know Texas has been a mystery on the weather changes! From cold to warm temperatures every other day back to cold the next. It has really sent the fish into a whirl of being hungry!

The tides are just where they need to be with low tides from the cold fronts but have started to come up spreading the redfish out. We are still finding the redfish in deeper holes around waist deep water on cloudy days but when the sun is out the reds are out and ready to play in the shallow water!

The drum as well have also been around with the reds sitting side by side in the same holes. The normal size range that we have been seeing is anywhere from 14-17 inches which is perfect eating size. Just as the redfish are doing chasing the sun light of being shallow when the sun is out and they are just looking for those shrimp we are throwing out to them.

We also have our big black drum “ breeder drum “ coming in very soon that we will be offering trips on in February-March possibly even April. These black drum are the fight of a life time when hooking onto them it’s a battle of 15-40 minutes and the drum are about 34-45 inches.

The fish are ready to be caught by you and we are ready to watch you bring them in with a smile on your face!

LODGING AVAILABLE – NICE AND COMFORTABLE!  CALL FOR MORE DETAILS:  361-688-6459

Hello Everybody!!! Both trout and red fish are being caught.  Some areas and techniques are better than others.  Red fish are hitting virtually anything you put in front of them.  Live or fresh dead bait can be a little tricky to find, but if you do and you are in the right areas you will catch fish.  Reds are hitting shrimp, both live and dead, live finger mullet along with cut mullet.  Trout are also eating live shrimp.  Wading throwing soft plastics are producing both trout and reds with some big trout being caught.  We should just have February left of the cold weather.  I am so ready for some overall warmer days.

“I promise you 110% PURE FISHING FUN!!”

LODGING AVAILABLE!!   I HAVE A CLEAN, COMFORTABLE AND COZY CABIN FOR ALL MY GUESTS! CALL FOR MORE INFO!

Hello to Everyone!  We’ve had, as probably you’ve noticed in your area too, wind that has been blowing and blowing hard.  Here in Rockport, Aransas Pass, Ingleside, and Portland it just depends on which direction you want to fish. There are plenty of places to get out of the “gust”.  Use live, or dead, shrimp and look for huge schools of Black Drum.  They’re hungry and a lot of fun to catch.  You’ll probably hang a Red while you’re at it.  As far as the Duck Hunting goes it’s a lot like fishing, they are here in great numbers one to three days, and in fewer numbers the next.  As I’ve stated in previous reports nothing is a guaranteed except death and taxes. But you definitely need to participate, do your best, and whatever happens enjoy what God has given us.
